Description

I am Silvyr Greenleaf, and I confess—cities still confuse me.

Who I Am

I’m a wood elf with auburn hair that always seems to have leaves or twigs caught in it, no matter how often I brush it out. My hands are stained green from handling plants. My forest green eyes, I’m told, light up whenever anyone mentions anything related to nature.

I dress in practical earth-toned clothing that blends with natural surroundings—though it makes me stand out considerably on cobblestone streets. I move with the quiet grace of someone far more comfortable in forests than in crowded markets. The noise here… it’s overwhelming, if I’m being honest.

My Story

I grew up as a wanderer on the edges of the Ardeep Forest, never quite belonging to any single elven settlement but welcomed by many. I discovered early that I had a gift for healing and plant cultivation. The local druids recognized this and taught me their ways, though my education was informal—lessons learned under open sky rather than in any formal grove.

I serve Silvanus, the god of wild nature, and I believe that true progress means finding balance between civilization’s ambitions and nature’s needs. The forests taught me patience. They also taught me that everything is connected.

When the druids heard that Lord Renaer Neverember sought someone to assess environmental damage in Waterdeep’s forge district, they recommended me. It seemed like a simple consultation—document the damage, propose solutions for healing the urban landscape.

It became much more than that.

Why I’m Here

I came to Waterdeep to meet with Renaer about implementing green solutions to the city’s environmental problems. The forge district is… concerning. The damage there runs deep. But what began as a consultation evolved into something unexpected.

I was captured alongside Renaer. Rescued by strangers who became friends. Now I’m a co-owner of Trollskull Manor, learning about tavern permits and guild politics when I should be cataloging pollution sources.

Renaer believes change is possible here. That the city can heal. He’s my only real ally in this stone maze, and his success means hope for environmental restoration. I have to believe he’s right.

What Drives Me

I’m fascinated by the ingenuity of city-dwellers but completely overwhelmed by the complexity of their daily lives. Why do humans make everything so complicated? I see potential solutions everywhere, but the politics… the money… I don’t understand any of it.

I carry sketches of green space designs wherever I go. I always have seeds or cuttings in my pockets. Someday, I’ll return to the forests with proof that cooperation between civilization and nature is possible.

Until then, I’ll keep transforming into a rat to scout dangerous buildings and healing my companions when the fighting’s done. It’s strange work for a druid, but the forest taught me to adapt.
